Butterfly Day
We talked about different types of butterflies (I showed them pictures) and what the different parts of a butterfly are named. Then we made this little butterfly craft. They squirted drops of paint on ONE side of the butterfly (two pieces of white cardstock taped together, and edges cut into butterfly shape), then we folded the butterfly in half to make the dots of paint spread and mix into these beauties! And clearly, doing so makes the butterfly symmetrical - another topic we covered about the design of their wings. We added a "body" (brown construction paper, eyes, and antennas, after the paint was dry.
